Why Chess?
At BluNose Boxing Summer Camp, we train more than just the body — we train the mind.
Chess is a daily part of our lunch hour because it teaches the same mental skills every great fighter needs in the ring:
-
Patience — learning to wait for the right moment
-
Focus — locking in on your next move under pressure
-
Discipline — thinking before reacting
-
Strategy — planning ahead and setting traps
-
Respect — win or lose, you shake hands and level up
Whether it’s on the board or in the ring, our young fighters learn how to think steps ahead, stay calm under pressure, and build confidence through smart decision-making.
